I lot of people don’t like this pairing because of the infidelity issues. And that’s totally fine! Namor isn’t the type of person to respect those kind of boundaries, even though sometimes I really wish he would. And I feel like the interest is justified with Sue because most of the time Reed is a terrible and neglectful husband. Her pull towards Namor is primarily based on the physical, along with the complete detachment from reality that he represents.

The panel above is from an issue of X-Factor, and actually takes place inside Sue’s mind. Namor is her fantasy, her escape. He’s only too willing to enable her, but one of the things I love about Sue is her strength of character. One day she may indeed leave Reed for Namor, but she won’t compromise her morals in the process.
